From Strava to Your Shelf
You trained for months. You ran the race, hiked the trail, or crushed the ride. Now that route lives in a GPX file on your phone — but it deserves to live somewhere more permanent.
At Race Topos, we turn your GPS data into a handcrafted 3D printed topographic map you can hold, display, and share. Here's exactly how it works.
What Is a GPX File?
A GPX (GPS Exchange Format) file is a standard data format that records your route's coordinates and elevation. Every major fitness app exports them — including Strava, Garmin Connect, AllTrails, Komoot, and Map My Ride.
How to Export Your GPX File
The process is slightly different depending on your app:
- Strava: Open the activity → click the three-dot menu → Export GPX
- Garmin Connect: Open the activity → click the gear icon → Export to GPX
- AllTrails: Open the trail or recorded activity → Export → GPX
- Komoot: Open the tour → Download GPX
How to Order Your Custom Topo Map
- Choose your product — a fully custom map from any route, or a pre-made race map from a Southeastern Trail Race.
- Upload your GPX file directly on the product page using the upload button.
- Add your personalization details in the order notes — event name, finish time, and any custom text.
- We handle the rest. Your map is generated, 3D printed, and shipped within 5–10 business days.
What Makes a Great Topo Map?
The best maps come from routes with meaningful elevation change — trail races, mountain hikes, and challenging bike rides all produce stunning results. Flat routes can still look great, but dramatic terrain really makes the topography pop.
